New CD Review: Regardless of Me – “The World Within”

My latest CD review was posted last week! So it’s time for you to learn a little more about the Italian band Regardless of Me.

I discovered Regardless of Me back in December. This band combines alternative rock, progressive metal, and trip-hop to create a sound that on paper doesn’t sound too original, but in execution is quite impressive. The band’s debut album, “The World Within,” explores this diverse musical vision with personal yet socially conscious lyrics and superb melodies.  Singer Pamela Manzo has a voice that’s strong and quite harmonious. Her melodies remind me of those of Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) and Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering, Agua de Annique).

Also, for anyone who knows much about metal guitarists, maybe you have heard of Emiliano Sicilia.  He released a solo album called “Devotion Materialize” in 2006.  Well, Emiliano is the founder and lead guitarist of Regardless of Me.  So expect some smokin’ solos on “The World Within.”
