Interview and Poetry Reading on the Wicked Writers Podcast

This was such a fun interview! I recently spoke with Rachael Dubinsky on her Wicked Writers podcast, which features a wide range of Massachusetts-based writers and explores why they love what they do. We talked about poetry, my work as an editor and writing coach, and the importance of finding inspiration everywhere. Plus, I share one of my favorite tips for writers and read “Origin Story,” one of my poems.

New Interviews at Coach Daddy and SheBreathes

Hi, everyone! I’m here to share not just one recent interview I’ve done, but TWO. 🙂

First up is a #GirlsRock interview with Eli at Coach Daddy. The #GirlsRock series is dedicated to highlighting women who are doing amazing things and making the world a better place. Some of the women Eli has interviewed in the past include journalists, podcasters, TV reporters, and musicians / artists. So I’m honored – and psyched! – to be featured on Eli’s blog again. (I wrote this guest post for Coach Daddy back in 2015.) We talk about my editing / writing coaching business Heart of the Story, poetry, and my one piece of advice for women who enjoy writing.

A Blogoversary Interview With Sara Letourneau

Happy Blogoversary

Today marks the blog’s 7th birthday!  😀  It seems like forever ago when I signed up for a free WordPress account – and to be honest, I had no idea what I was doing back then when it came to blogging. But since then, this site has evolved so much, and I’ve learned a lot and become a better writer because of it. And now, it’s time to celebrate this special birthday with a post that YOU, the readers, voted for.

Last month, readers selected an interview with yours truly as this year’s blogoversary post. I admit that I was a little nervous about this – but I’m an introvert. Of course, I would be nervous about being interviewed. This turned out to be a lot of fun, though, and I thank everyone who submitted questions. Enjoy!

New Interview at Little Novelist

Little Novelist logo

Today I’m over at Little Novelist, talking about blogging, novel-writing, and general inspiration for my projects. I also share one of my favorite pieces of writing advice, and confess as to why I don’t have a truly specific “blogging niche.” (*blushes*)

Click here to read my interview at Little Novelist. Make sure you check out Rhianne’s other content there, too. She has a lovely variety of posts on reading, writing, and “the writer’s life”; and also offers a story idea generation workbook and an online shop with various e-book resources.

Feel free to comment on the interview, by the way! I’ll be checking the post periodically to respond to anything there.

Tolkien Talk: Sara Letourneau

Today I’m over at Pages Unbound, talking about the “One Author” (*wink*) whose works inspired me to write fantasy. I share what first drew me to J.R.R. Tolkien’s books, my favorite passage from Lord of the Rings, my well-worn pile of Tolkien books, and more. Check out the interview at the link below.

Also, if anyone is interested, Pages Unbound is hosting a Tolkien Twitter chat on Friday, March 25 at 8:00 pm Eastern. To participate, just follow @pagesunbound for questions, and use the hashtag #JRRchat. I’m planning to be there, and I hope some of you can come as well! 🙂

July 2015’s Featured Novel Lady at She’s Novel

Shes Novel logo

Kristen A. Kieffer has kindly invited me to be the July 2015 Featured Novel Lady at She’s Novel! Every month she interviews a fellow writer about their project(s), writing journey, and favorite bits of advice about their craft. So, how did I get started writing? What do I plan to focus on as a fantasy writer? And, what book series would I read for the rest of my life if I had to choose? Check out the interview to find out! 😉

#FriendFriday Feature at Blots & Plots

Blots and Plots logo

Yesterday I stopped by Jenny Bravo’s Blots & Plots for her bi-monthly feature #FriendFriday. It’s a short interview, but it covers quite a lot of ground. I shared a little bit about how I started writing, offered advice on how writers can connect with future readers, and recalled one college professor’s encouragement that is most responsible for guiding me to where I am today as a writer. 🙂

Podcast Interview at DIY MFA

DiyMFA

Yesterday, Gabriela Pereira (a.k.a. my boss at DIY MFA) interviewed me at DIY MFA as part of the site’s new podcast series, “Behind DIY MFA.” We talked about my column Theme: A Story’s Soul and the importance of themes in stories we read and write. We also talked about non-theme-related topics like versatility vs niche writing, the purpose of passion in one’s writing life, and writing rituals. In other words, LOTS of writing topics. 🙂

I have to admit: I was sooooooo nervous right before the interview and again before I listened to the finished product last night, but I knew doing this would be fun and also good “public speaking” practice. And it was. Plus, Gabriela is an awesome interviewer and host; she’s warm, encouraging, funny, and adaptive to any technical glitches. (*ahem* Skype disconnections *ahem*)

The interview is roughly 45 minutes and starts right after Gabriela’s introduction. I hope you enjoy it!
