I may be a few days behind in sharing this, but better late than never, right? And today I have double the treat for you, courtesy of indie author Jenny Knipfer. She recently featured me and my work twice on her blog!
First, Jenny invited me to write this guest post about poetry as a spiritual practice. I’ve long considered poetry-writing as something more than creative, but it’s not a topic I’ve had the opportunity to talk about often. So this article explores how a poet of an agnostic / nondenominational faith sees the act of writing as a truly special experience. I also share some insights into the three poems that were published in the Fall / Winter 2019-2020 issue of The Aurorean, and Jenny offers a kind review of said journal.
Also, Jenny interviewed me for her podcast! We talked about some of my favorite poets, when and how I started submitting my work for publication, my editing / literary coaching business Heart of the Story, and my favorite editing tip to share with writers. And if you’ve ever wanted to hear me read my poetry, stay until the end of the interview to listen to a live reading of “Hunter’s Moon.”
