I’ve written one last article about my time at the 2017 Iceland Writers Retreat. Yes, three articles on the same event may sound like a lot, but I specifically tailored each one to have its own angle. And for this article, which you’ll find on the Iceland Writers Retreats’ official blog, I took the personal route. I shared what inspired me to attend the retreat, why the experience was more meaningful than I’d ever expected, and two moments from the retreat that sparked a turnaround in my confidence. You might find some more photos from the trip, too. ๐

I very much enjoyed reading your article. I’m very glad that you ultimately found the confidence and renewed determination to write through your wonderful experience – and your effort to get yourself there:). It is an inspiration to all of us attempting to extend ourselves.

Wow! I was so hoping going would be a rejuvenating experience for you and I’m so happy it was! That trip sounds so amazing. This conference is so going on my bucket list haha. Thanks so much for sharing! Oh! On a side note, I tried skyrr and you’ve gotten me addicted to it. I really like Siggi’s raspberry flavor. ^ ^

I think I’ve read this article before, but I don’t think I ever got to comment on it.
I’m happy that your Iceland trip turned out all you had dreamed it to be. Having lived in (now) two foreign countries, I can relate how enriching such experience gets to be. I hope you get to travel again in the future. What’s next on the list? ๐

Thanks, Joanna. ๐ As for future travels, that’s hard to say. There are so many countries – and even U.S. landmarks I’ve yet to see in person – that I’d love to visit. But I already want to go back to Iceland, too. In fact, I’m entertaining the idea of doing IWR again – if not in 2018, then in 2019.
